OCTOBER WAS A GOOD MONTH

We accomplished a great deal during the month of October. The Secretary's monthly report revealed the following achievements: 14 Lions spent 28 hours delivering Meals on Wheels. 30 Lions spent 82 hours working 10/17 & 10/18 for our White Cane Days and collected $4,070.82 (We also had an extra person who was not a lion-daughter of a lion member-to help for 2 hours). 14 Lions spent 28 hours with our Adopted School (Adams Elementary) helping with their reading and listening programs. We had 12 articles in the local papers for the month. We donated a $500 Scholarship to Hill College and invited the recipient and her husband to have lunch with us. We collected 198 pairs of used glasses and cases. Five issues of the Club Bulletin were printed and distributed.

The Downtown Cleburne Association sponsored Festival of Lights Christmas Parade is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. today. Our entry is number 126 and our beginning location will be on Wilhite Street. We are to be in place by 5:30 p.m. Our parade number is to be placed on the top-right of windshield on passenger side of the vehicle. The judges will be on our right as we pass them. The parade will end at Hulen Park on Westhill. If you would like to be a part of the float, arrive at the starting point on Wilhite (with Lions Vest on) no later than 5:30 p.m. We are entered in the "non-profit" category.

BELL RINGERS GET READY

If you are scheduled to be a bell ringer for the Salvation Army within the next several days, please check with Lion Nancy Holt to be sure of your time and location. This is one of our most important community services.
