Coupling shafts are designed to transmit rotation between individual conveyor screw sections and to provide intermediate radial support through hanger bearings. Two basic types of coupling shafts are available. Standard coupling shafts are for use with hanger bearings. Close-coupling shafts are designed for applications where the omission of hanger bearings is desirable. Caution should be exercised in the use of close-coupling shafts to prevent deflection. Newton coupling shafts are manufactured of cold-drawn C-1045 carbon steel with an average tensile strength of 112,000 psi. All coupling bolts holes are jig-drilled for perfect alignment. |
